The album was recorded with acoustic instruments, which was a major trend at that time. Their video for the single Natrag u garažu from the album " The best of" Unpljugd was the most played video on most of Croatian TV programmes. That same year, for concerts in Ljubljana and Zagreb, the band was chosen as the opening act for The Ramones, a band that Psihomodo Pop cited as both a musical act they admire the most as well as their biggest influence. In 1990 the band released their second studio album Sexy magazin and set out on a relatively successful three-month tour across the former Soviet Union.

This gave Psihomodo Pop the distinction as the first Yugoslavian music act to have their music played on a major music television network. Nema nje was released as a single from the album and became a success due to the music video for the song being played by MTV.

Formed from the remnants of a band called Neron, Psihomodo Pop initially gained fame across former Yugoslavia in 1988 after the release of their debut album Godina zmaja. The Croatian pop punk group was formed in 1983 in Zagreb and has since achieved a somewhat cult following across the area of former Yugoslavia. Since its creation, they have been relying on true rock sounds of bands, such as Rolling Stones, Iggy & the Stooges, Lou Reed, Velvet Underground, T-Rex, The Vibrators and The Ramones, which made them an essential member of rock music scene in this part of the world. The band, known for its unique way of performing, made a strong impression on the Croatian rock scene. Psihomodo Pop and its charismatic lead singer Davor Gobac never cease to amaze us with strong rock songs, like » Kad sam imao 16«, «Osjećam se haj, mozak baj, baj«, ✿rida«, »Natrag u garažu«, »Telegram Sam«, »Ramona« and » Ja volim samo sebe«.
